Weblogs for Use with ESL Classes week 1

      Weblog have been in existence the very beginning of the world wide web itself (Winer, 2002), free, commercially available ‘blogging software’ of the type discussed in this article, seems to have made its first appearance in July of 1999 (Blood, 2000). Because of the relative quickness and ease of publishing. Then we can now observe blogs being used for personal, educational, journalistic, and commercial purposes. I will introduce three possible ways that weblogs could be put to immediate use with ESL classroom learning.

                                       ESL : English as a second language💬                        

      "A weblog (blog)" is a website that contains a log or diary of information, specific topics or opinions. A blog author (blogger) links to stories or other websites with ideas and interesting information. These are typically segregated according to the blog's topic or subtopic and written directly into the browser on the internet. Blogs are often maintained and run by a single individual, updated daily, or contain personal remarks about a topic, a personal ramble, or an update on the person's life. In many ways, many weblogs are like a personal journal or a look into another individual's life and can be a way to learn about people, events, places, and more from people around the world. There are three types of Weblogs for use in ESL Classrooms

1. The Tutor Blog      

This is a type of weblog that is run by the tutor for the learners. It serves the following purposes.

      💖 It gives daily reading practice to the learners.

      💖 It promotes exploration of English websites.

      💖 It encourages online verbal exchange by use of comment buttons.

      💖 It provides class or syllabus information.

      💖 It serves as a resource of links for self-study.  

   2. The Learner Blog

         In ESL, learner blogs may be best suites for reading and writing classes. A common reading assignment can be followed by blog posting of each learner or group of learners. Then, the students can get writing practice, develop a sense of ownership, and get experience with the practical, legal, and ethical issues of creating a hypertext document.

   3. The Class Blog

   💖 In conversation-based classes it could be post text, images, and links for the learners to discussion topics and them to post thoughts on a shared theme allotted for homework.

  💖With intermediate and advanced learners for facilitating project based language learning and given the chance to develop research and writing skill by being asked to create an online resource for others.

    💖Class blogs could be used as a virtual space for an international classroom language exchange.   

    💖 Blogger can be given varying amounts of responsibility to publish material arising from posting on the discussion list.

           Weblogs is free and can used easily such as sign-in is very simple by requires an email address. And can be up and blogging in a short time amount of time. Finally, you can research to find out which software is the best for your particular needs.
